Community profiles

The Community Profiles provide a snapshot of South Australia's diverse communities, looking at country of birth. The profiles may be useful to government departments, non-government departments, students and teachers, the general public and people wanting to settle in South Australia and who are wanting to learn more about our multicultural society or a little about their own ethnic community.

The community profiles are based on information gathered from a number of different sources such as:

  • the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) 2011 Census of Population and Housing
  • Australian Education International, International Student Data
  • Department of Home Affairs (formally known as the Department of Immigration and Border Protection)
  • the South Australian Migration Museum and other such resources.

All information contained in the community profiles are published for general information purposes only.

While Multicultural SA has made every effort to ensure the most reliable, accurate and up-to-date (timely) information has been sourced for content, the Department makes no claims, promises or guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the content of the community profiles, and disclaims liability for errors and omissions in the content of these documents.
