The Feast of the Epiphany
|Event Name||The Feast of the Epiphany|
|Start Date||6th Jan 2017 12:00am|
Every year on January 6 (Gregorian) and January 19 (Julian), the Orthodox Church celebrates one of its most sacred days, the Feast of Epiphany. Epiphany celebrates the Baptism of Jesus Christ in the River Jordan. It is also known as the Feast of Theofania because it is when the Most Holy Trinity is revealed to the world through the Baptism of the Lord. On the Day of Epiphany, the Church blesses the sea, the seashores, the islands and those whose livelihood is dependent upon the sea.
