Tunisia celebrates the anniversary of their Independence from France yearly every 20th of March.
Tunisia is bordered by two African countries: Algeria (west) and Libya (southwest) and Mediterranean sea which surrounds the country on the northern and partly eastern part. It assumed the name of Kingdom of Tunisia after it gained independence from France in 1956 after more than seven decades (75 years) of having French protectorate status. It subsequently gained its republic status in June 25, 1957 with Habib Bourguiba as its first president.
